Chemical Enterprise — Multi-Pollutant Acid Gas & VOCs Treatment

PollutantsVOCs, HClSO₂Cl₂, etc.
Inlet Concentration500 mg/m³
Gas Flow Rate60,000 m³/h
Treatment Process3-Stage Alkaline Scrubbing → Demisting → Activated Carbon Adsorption → 25m Stack
Removal Efficiency98%

A large-scale chemical manufacturing plant discharging a complex mixture of volatile organic compounds and corrosive acid gases including hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, and chlorine at concentrations up to 500 mg/m³. We engineered a comprehensive multi-barrier treatment system featuring three alkaline scrubbing towers in series for progressive acid gas neutralization, followed by a high-efficiency mist eliminator to capture aerosolized droplets, activated carbon adsorbers as a polishing stage for residual VOCs, and a 25-meter exhaust stack for safe dispersion. The three-stage alkaline scrubbing configuration ensures that even peak acid gas loads are fully neutralized before reaching the carbon beds, extending their service life significantly.

Pharmaceutical Pilot Plant — Acid-Base & VOCs Exhaust Treatment

PollutantsAcid gasesAlkaline gases, VOCs
Gas Flow Rate3,000 m³/h
Treatment Process2-Stage Wet Scrubbing (Acid-Base Neutralization) → Activated Carbon Adsorption
Removal Efficiency98%

A pharmaceutical pilot-scale production facility generating intermittent exhaust streams containing both acidic and alkaline fumes along with organic solvent vapors during drug synthesis and formulation processes. The relatively low flow rate of 3,000 m³/h but highly variable composition required a flexible treatment approach. We designed a compact two-stage counter-current wet scrubbing system where the first stage targets acidic components and the second stage handles any residual alkaline species, achieving efficient pH-neutralization across varying load conditions. A downstream activated carbon adsorption unit provides final polishing for organic solvent vapors. The entire skid-mounted system fits within the pilot plant’s constrained footprint while maintaining ease of maintenance access for filter and carbon replacement. This project demonstrates our capability to deliver effective air pollution control solutions even for small-scale operations with complex, variable exhaust characteristics.

Pharmaceutical Chemical Enterprise — NOx & NO₂ Treatment

PollutantsNitrogen Oxides (NOx, NO₂)
Inlet Concentration215 kg/h
Gas Flow Rate3,000 m³/h
Treatment Process6-Stage High Tower Water Absorption → 3-Stage Alkaline Wash
Removal Efficiency99.50%

A pharmaceutical chemical manufacturer discharging nitrogen oxides (NOx, NO₂) at significant concentrations required a high-efficiency absorption system to meet stringent emission limits. We engineered a multi-stage treatment train featuring six high towers for water absorption of soluble nitrogen oxides, followed by three-stage alkaline washing to ensure complete removal of remaining acidic components. The 9-tower cascade configuration delivers exceptional removal efficiency of 99.50%, making it suitable for applications where every percentage point matters.

Metallurgical Enterprise Dust & Sulfuric Acid Mist Treatment

PollutantsDust, Sulfuric Acid Mist
Gas Flow Rate15,000 m³/h
Treatment ProcessCyclonic Dynamic Scrubber → Acid Mist Absorption Tower
Removal Efficiency90%

A metallurgical facility generating particulate matter and sulfuric acid mist from smelting operations required a robust scrubbing system capable of handling high dust loads while achieving effective acid mist removal. We delivered a two-stage solution combining a cyclonic dynamic scrubber for initial dust and coarse droplet removal, followed by a packed-bed acid mist absorption tower for fine mist capture. The system operates continuously with minimal maintenance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of acid and alkali gases can be treated?

Our systems handle HCl (hydrogen chloride), sulfuric acid mist (H₂SO₄), HF (hydrofluoric acid), NH₃/ammonia, Cl₂/chlorine, NOₓ/nitrogen oxides, and mixed acid-alkaline exhaust streams. Each gas requires specific scrubbing media and chemical reagents — we design accordingly based on your exact exhaust composition.

How does an acid gas scrubber work?

Acid-laden exhaust gas enters the bottom of a scrubber tower and flows upward through packing media while a neutralizing liquid (typically NaOH, Ca(OH)₂, or water) is sprayed from the top. The counter-current contact absorbs acidic components into the liquid phase, producing clean air at the tower outlet and neutralized effluent at the bottom for safe discharge or recycling.

What is the typical removal efficiency?

Properly designed acid gas scrubbers achieve 95–99.9% removal efficiency for HCl, SO₂, and HF. Actual performance depends on inlet concentration, gas flow rate, liquid-to-gas ratio (L/G), packing selection, and residence time. YFEP guarantees compliance with your local emission limits.

Do you offer customized solutions?
