Drawer Type Activated Carbon Adsorption Box

Category:

Product Overview

The drawer type activated carbon adsorption box is a modular fixed-bed adsorber engineered for industrial VOC capture and odor control. Its defining feature is the side-access carbon tray design: each adsorbent layer sits in an individual drawer that pulls out horizontally, allowing spent carbon to be replaced without shutting down the exhaust system or entering the contaminated chamber.

Built from corrosion-resistant PP or PPH, the unit handles acidic, alkaline, and humid exhaust streams that would rapidly degrade carbon steel housings. The number of drawers is configurable to match site airflow and footprint constraints, making it suitable for both compact workshop vents and larger process lines.

Key Features

Side-Pull Drawer TraysTool-free carbon change-out from the service side; no need to stop the fan or open the contaminated front chamber.
PP / PPH ConstructionExcellent chemical resistance against acidic, alkaline, and solvent-laden gases; extended service life in corrosive environments.
Configurable Drawer CountDrawer quantity and layer thickness are tailored to target pollutant load and available floor space.
Low Pressure DropOptimized bed depth and open tray structure keep fan energy consumption within a controlled range.
Modular ExpansionMultiple units can be arranged in parallel or series to scale treatment capacity.
Accessible InspectionEach drawer can be inspected individually for saturation monitoring and maintenance planning.

Working Principle

Contaminated gas enters the box and passes horizontally through the activated carbon layers housed in the drawers. Pollutant molecules (VOCs, odor compounds) are captured by physical adsorption on the porous carbon surface, and cleaned gas exits the outlet side.

When a drawer’s carbon approaches saturation, the operator pulls that specific tray out from the service side and replaces it with fresh granular or pelletized activated carbon. Because each drawer is independent, the rest of the unit continues operating during maintenance—minimizing downtime for continuous processes.

Applications

  • Chemical and pharmaceutical process vents
  • Wastewater treatment and pumping station odor control
  • Food processing and rendering facilities
  • Printing, coating, and adhesive curing exhaust (non-spray-booth segments)
  • Electronics and semiconductor cleanroom exhaust pretreatment
  • Laboratory and small-batch solvent vapor control
