MBBR System (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor)

MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor) is a novel, highly efficient reactor that bridges the gap between the activated sludge process and the fixed-bed biofilm process. Characterized by a large specific surface area, the reactor allows carrier media to move freely within the vessel. Wastewater flows continuously through the reactor, which is packed with these moving carriers; as microorganisms grow on the carriers, they form a biofilm. Within this biofilm, diverse microbial communities—including both autotrophic and heterotrophic species—proliferate and metabolize carbon (C), nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and other nutrients present in the water, thereby achieving the purification of the wastewater.

Containerized Structure: The equipment is designed to standard shipping container dimensions, integrating units for pretreatment, the MBBR reaction zone, sedimentation, and disinfection into a compact assembly, thereby facilitating easy transportation and rapid on-site installation.

Flexible Scalability: Treatment capacity can be flexibly adjusted by connecting multiple containerized modules in parallel, making the system suitable for projects of varying scales and requirements.

High-Efficiency Biological Treatment (MBBR Core Technology): The reactor is packed with suspended biological carriers, providing a vast specific surface area that fosters the formation of a highly active biofilm, thereby significantly enhancing the degradation efficiency of pollutants such as COD, BOD, and ammonia nitrogen.

Resistance to Shock Loads: As a biofilm-based process, the system exhibits strong tolerance to fluctuations in wastewater quality and flow rates (e.g., intermittent discharges from industrial facilities) and demonstrates rapid recovery capabilities.Low Energy Consumption:The system eliminates the need for the sludge recirculation systems typically required in conventional activated sludge processes; furthermore, the aeration system features an optimized design (e.g., utilizing fine-bubble diffusers) to minimize electricity consumption.

Scope of Application:Treatment and recycling of domestic wastewater from hotels, restaurants, residential communities, etc.

Collection and reuse of domestic sewage in industrial and mining enterprises, remote villages, military outposts, and tourist destinations.

Treatment of various types of industrial wastewater, including effluents from hospitals, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laundries, food processing plants, slaughterhouses, and dairy production facilities.
