PP/PPH Vertical Storage Tank

Category:

A PP/PPH vertical storage tank stores corrosive liquids incompatible with steel — non-oxidizing acids, alkalis and salt solutions — in a welded polypropylene shell. Custom volume and nozzles.

PP/PPH Vertical Storage Tank

A PP/PPH vertical storage tank is a welded polypropylene vessel for the static, bulk storage of corrosive liquids that attack carbon steel and many metals. “PP” is polypropylene; “PPH” is the polypropylene homopolymer grade — higher rigidity and a higher continuous-service temperature than random-copolymer PP, making it the preferred choice for demanding duty. For larger volumes, the PP shell is often backed by an FRP or steel outer wall (PP-FRP / PP-lined) to provide structural stiffness.

Construction

  • Vertical cylindrical shell with flat, conical or domed bottom; closed or open top with manway.
  • Nozzles for fill, draw-off, overflow, vent and level instrumentation.
  • Optional PP-FRP or PP-lined-steel construction for taller / larger capacities.
  • Site-built or shop-fabricated depending on size and transport.

Chemical Resistance

Suited to non-oxidizing media: dilute hydrochloric and sulphuric acid (up to moderate concentration), phosphoric acid, alkaline solutions (NaOH, KOH), salt brines, demineralized water and many organic liquids. Not for strong oxidizers (concentrated nitric or chromic acid, permanganate), not above the material’s temperature limit, and some chlorinated or aromatic solvents can stress-crack PP — verify compatibility for solvent service.

Where It Fits

Tank typeBest for
PP/PPH vertical (this page / family)Static bulk storage of non-oxidizing acids & alkalis; small-to-mid volume
PP/PPH horizontalSame media, but low-profile / transport / dosing / height-limited installs
FRPLarge-volume water, wastewater, mild chemicals; lightweight; solvent-capable (resin-dependent)
Stainless steelHygienic food/pharma/water service; high temp & pressure; NOT strong acids

Typical Applications

  • Bulk storage of process acids and alkalis
  • Intermediate and buffer tanks in chemical lines
  • Demineralized / process water
  • Non-oxidizing plating and etching solutions
  • Wastewater equalization and neutralization feed

Customization

Each tank is custom-engineered to your duty: volume, diameter/height, PP gauge and wall build-up, bottom type, nozzle schedule and support are selected per your media and site. Share your stored liquid, concentration, temperature and capacity and we specify accordingly.
