PP/PPH Horizontal Storage Tank
A PP/PPH horizontal storage tank uses the same welded polypropylene / PPH material as the vertical type, arranged as a horizontal cylinder on saddle or cradle supports. The low center of gravity and small footprint make it the right choice where headroom is limited, for mobile/transport duty, or for day-tanks and dosing stations. “PPH” is the polypropylene homopolymer grade with higher rigidity and service temperature than random-copolymer PP.
Construction
- Horizontal cylindrical shell on saddle/cradle supports; anti-roll and lifting lugs as required.
- Manways, level and agitation options; transport versions often baffled.
- Larger units use PP-FRP or PP-lined-steel for shell stiffness over long spans.
Chemical Resistance
Identical to the vertical PP/PPH family: non-oxidizing acids (dilute HCl, H2SO4 to moderate concentration, H3PO4), alkalis (NaOH, KOH), brines, demin water and many organics. Avoid strong oxidizers, exceedance of temperature limit, and verify compatibility for chlorinated/aromatic solvent service.
